WIP: Come Find Me

This is a story I’ve had in my head for SO LONG, but I didn’t quite know what I wanted the catastrophic event to be…Once I had that figured out, the rest of the story came together so easily. This novel is in drafting stage.

When Sydney gets a text from her husband telling her he’s left her a note underneath her pillow, she assumes it’s another of his romantic moments.

The note gives her directions to a storage shed that she didn’t know they had, keys to a car she is unfamiliar with, as well as instruction to immediately burn the note…she assumes it’s a joke.

But when she calls, his phone is disconnected. When she calls his office, no one answers. When she drives by the financial firm where he works…the lot is empty.

As Sydney gathers their children and sprints to follow his directions from the car, to a boat, to a rowboat…to a cabin they once used, the world begins to fall apart in strange ways.

A quantum shift one emergency station says, an alien attack from another… It’s impossible to sort out the information.

She struggles to use the provisions set aside by the husband she thought did financial planning, sort out the failing world around her, and re-live the pivotal moments of her relationship with her husband and the training she unknowingly received for this exact type of emergency on the shores of Southeast Alaska.

With her understanding of reality on the line, her love of a man who may have the answers and questions from her children she can’t begin to answer — she’s in a fight for survival on more levels than she understands.
